The topos of the "begging gypsies" who allegedly live without work, occupies a central position in the antiziganistischen Ressentimentstruktur. The development of discourses about "begging" and influence over "gypsies" are intertwined and mutually supportive. The presentation of this sheds light on this dimension of antiziganism precisely, to their inner logic analyzed and subjected to a structural element of bourgeois socialization to criticism.
